Guadalajara/Mexico, 1987-1995

In the city of Guadalajara, the capital of the Mexican   state Jalisco, a light rail transit system has been implemented between 1989 and 1995 consisting of two lines and a total length of 25 km.

The activities of LRTC have covered the conceptual and the detailed design as well as the preparation of tender documents and the construction supervision  for following system components:

  • Trackwork and stations
  • Power supply (catenary system, rectifier substations)
  • Depot and workshops. Additional activities have been:
  • Development of organisational structures of the new transit company
  • Elaboration of  an operational concept including time-tables and duty rosters
  • Interface management between different system components
  • Organisation and supervision of the trial operation
  • Training of the signalling staff
