Pittsburgh LRV Factory Inspection

Pittsburgh/USA, 1983-1985

For the final acceptance inspection of the components of the 55 light rail vehicles for PAT Pittsburgh (manufactured in Germany at DUEWAG, Düsseldorf) the following works have been executed by LRTC:

  • Testing, measuring and final acceptance inspection of the carbody shells after manufacture, painting and installation of parts of the interior equipment including doors
  • Testing and final acceptance inspection of the bogie frames after manufacture, painting and mounting of certain components

After completion of the first vehicles at an assembling plant near Pittsburgh, the vehicles became subject to testing and to a final acceptance inspection. Furthermore, other vehicles at different assembly stages have been subjected to an intermediate inspection and proposals for improvements have been elaborated.
